Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm nearing retirement but I don't feel old. I'm still interested in learning new things and am perpetually curious. It's easy to sit around and do nothing and I do that sometimes...but I'm trying to break out of being too complacent.
How's your life?
I am a very lucky man. Good career, good relationships, living in a great home near the beach. What's to complain about?
What helps you keep your sanity?
Physical exercise. It used to be creative pursuits, but hiking, kayaking, pickleball, etc., etc., seem to be what really interests me.
What is most important to you right now?
Continuing to grow.
Anything you recently found interesting?
We went to see the whales in Guerrero Negro, Baja California, Mexico. The whales come right up to the small boats to interact with humans. It's pretty mind blowing
I'm checking yes on group matches below though I tend to prefer one on one interactions.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm 37, married, working a job I (mostly) like. Made a bunch of changes in my life in the past 4 years that have made a big impact on me. Hoping to make some new connections and enrich life through those.
How's your life?
Not too dramatic. Very average. Work is hectic, trying to fill the days with fun things to do outside of that.
What helps you keep your sanity?
My pets who provide structure in my daily life and provide many funny situations, music and routines.
What is most important to you right now?
Enjoyment. Simply finding enjoyment in day to day life.
Anything you recently found interesting?
How Simon Reynolds manages to humanize John Lydon in his book Rip it Up and Start Again, when the guy is kind of a prick.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m in that exciting phase of life where I’m chasing big goals, figuring out what truly matters, and learning how to make the perfect cup of coffee without Googling it. Balancing ambition with joy, and always down for adventures, late-night talks, and finding the best local food spots.
How's your life?
Life’s in that wild sweet spot between chasing big goals and laughing at how unpredictable it all is. It’s a mix of clarity, chaos, and late-night thoughts about what really matters—plus the occasional cereal-for-dinner moment.
What helps you keep your sanity?
A good playlist, solo walks that feel like side quests, and reminding myself that no one really has it all figured out. Oh—and not taking life too seriously (except when deciding on pizza toppings).
What is most important to you right now?
Right now, it’s all about chasing goals, enjoying the ride, and not losing my AirPods again.
Anything you recently found interesting?
Recently found out octopuses have nine brains, and now I feel personally attacked for struggling to answer emails with just one.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I just turned 30, and I moved to San Diego from the Bay Area in 2021. I am also trying to find a sense of community where I can connect with like-minded folks and have adventures around the city. I'm currently focusing on some hobbies, both new and old. I'm trying to explore to find purpose in life!
How's your life?
My life is okay right now! I have some great physical and artistic hobbies I like to partake in, which keeps me busy. I am in between jobs (thanks layoffs!) trying to find my next move, so that has been a bit stressful. I would love to put myself in new scenarios to expand my horizons.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Reading books (I have a goal of 26 this year), running (training for an upcoming half marathon), acting, ice skating, singing (not well, heh), and skateboarding.
What is most important to you right now?
Finding a community! :)
Anything you recently found interesting?
I recently went whale watching and didn't know there were so so many vast whales and dolphins in San Diego's beaches! :D The dolphins were super cute and friendly! :)

Welcome to San Diego! I know it has been a few years, but still, welcome! How are you liking the city compared to the Bay Area?

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m content, happy, learning gratitude, acceptance. I’ve learned to prioritize happiness, well I’m still learning. I’m 42, I feel the same as I always have, just a little wiser. Making connections is a little difficult for me due to my job. I do think shared experiences are more memorable so I’m hoping to meet some good people here for either intelligent conversation, outdoor activities, or both.
How's your life?
My life is good, I’m very fortunate. My work rotation is 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off. So I’m either gone, or in San Diego with lots of time. I work internationally and have for most of my career. My younger brother and his family who I’m very close to are moving to Miami, so that’s a big change for me.
What helps you keep your sanity?
The gym, family, having a job that I enjoy, walks, plants, fostering dogs, surfing, snorkeling La Jolla, swimming to the sea caverns.
What is most important to you right now?
Mental and physical health. Being present, going to the beach. Enjoying my life.
Anything you recently found interesting?
3 Body Problem, thinking about the concepts and science in the show, and the Dark Forest hypothesis.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm 24 and navigating through the difficulties of my early 20's. I sort of feel like I'm going through a process of rediscovery of how I fit into this world as a young working person. Truthfully, I think I'm right where I'm supposed to be. But that doesn't make this period of my life any easier or less uncertain. I find myself craving more connection and authenticity with others during a time that can feel very isolating.
How's your life?
I would say in a lot of ways my life has turned out really lovely. On paper, I got everything I wanted. I got my dream job as a labor and delivery nurse right out of college, I'm celebrating my 8 year anniversary with my boyfriend this May, I live close to a loving family, and I'm living on my own and learning how to be an adult. But beneath all that, I am struggling in many ways. My job is stressful on many levels and I struggle with work-life balance. My partner and I are dealing with serious doubts and uncertainties about out future together. I feel isolated and want more friendships. I'm scared I'm wasting my 20s because I'm such a homebody. In so many ways, I am incredibly grateful and privileged with how my life turned out and I am happy. But life is hard and I think I need to be better at creating more meaningful connections with others so it feels less like I'm going through it alone.
What helps you keep your sanity?
I'm a hobbies girl! I strongly believe that everyone should have at least one hobby. For me, crafting and art are my bread and butter. I love fiber arts: crocheting and knitting. Something about keeping my hands busy really numbs my brain in all the right ways. Creativity is a huge outlet for me. Drawing, painting, collages, you name it. I also love reading. Fantasy romance is my favorite genre.
What is most important to you right now?
I think what's most important to me right now is security. I just feel like there's a lot of uncertainties about my future which I think is normal and good in some ways. But I do find myself deeply craving a sense of security in myself, my work, and my relationship(s). I think I am the most content when I feel secure and I don't have a lot of question marks about my near future. I'm a big planner and I like it when it feels like those plans are going to pan out without worrying about the rug being pulled out from underneath me.
Anything you recently found interesting?
Something interesting I've been thinking about lately is the ability to learn empathy through reading and works of fiction. I recently read a fantasy series about a young black girl who loses her mom and subsequently gains magical powers (lol). But the books explores complex topics related to grief and racism. I found it so amazing how I was essentially able to put myself in her shoes and experience these things with her. I was able to feel her complex emotions about losing her mom, feeling out of place in a predominantly white school, and a sense of grief about not having access to her family tree/linage due to slavery. These are things I can never fully understand since I have not experienced it myself but after reading this book I have a much deeper sense of empathy and understanding on these topics. I find it really profound how one can learn empathy through art and fiction and I think it's an underrated way to incorporate activism in everyday life.

Where are you at in your life stage?
Rediscovery. Sliding into my mid-late thirties and feeling like I'm hitting my stride. I'm focusing more on who I am as a person and how to make that the best version. I've coasted on my twenties energy and now I'm in my chrysalis with my wings showing and ready to break out into a life of stability.
How's your life?
My life is a mix of working super hard offshore as an oceanographer in renewable energy, which allows me to travel and explore the world. When I'm home, you can find me walking to the surf break or on the trail with my german shepherd. I'm blessed to have the life I have now, but can appreciate the struggle it took to get here and the struggle that everyone else is going through.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Passion. Whether it be whatever project I'm working on. Surfing. Workout. Reading. The next adventure. Therapy. My pup.
What is most important to you right now?
I've been in SD for a little less than 2 years, but have been pretty wrapped up in work and am now trying to build community. Working on myself and adding stability to my life with grounded people with their heads in the cloud.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I've recently found challenging myself and my views interesting and exciting. Whether it be through getting back to being more of a yes person or pushing my boundaries in terms of being present and a whole person, instead of just cruising through life.
