Where are you at in your life stage?
I am just finishing up my 20s. I just got married and moved from Canada to the Bay area last month. I work from home and don't really know how to meet people. I am looking to build a friendship group.
How's your life?
Life is good! I have a fantastic husband and am excited for our future! I am unsure how to adjust to life in the Bay though. I am from a large family and I used to see at least one family member once a week. I also had lots of projects in Canada, but now, I have a lot more free-time and I don't really know what to do with it and/or don't have the energy to do anything with it. I often feel unproductive and like I am just wasting away my days/the wonderful opportunities life gives.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Definitely the weightlifting. If everything goes to poop, at least I went to the gym! Also baking and random hobbies such as drawing, music, dance, and home improvement projects. I used to bake at least once a week and bring it to my coworkers or family members, but now I have no one to share it with as my husband doesn't eat many sweets.
What is most important to you right now?
Building a life with my husband. I would like to expand our friend group. I also am making a commitment to myself to reduce my screen time outside of work hours as I want to share more real time moments with others.

The word teetotaler originates from a speech by Richard Turner in the 1830's in which he stuttered the word "total" when advocating for total abstinence from alcohol.

Nice relaxing morning, then some work, then some exercise, then cook a good meal, then some live music or a glass of wine with some friends.

Where are you at in your life stage?
35 and still trying to figure out life. Unemployed by choice at the moment so I can find my "calling," but it feels like a monumental task. I'm not sure what I really want or am looking for. I've gone through a handful of careers so I know what I don't want for sure. But is this all there really is to life? It feels like I should be doing more at my age considering I spend most of my days now doom scrolling, hanging out with my dogs, reading, and doing some sort of craft like crochet, calligraphy, or engraving.
How's your life?
I think I'm pretty content in life. First to graduate college in my family, married my childhood crush, travels, own a home, and childfree. My career is lacking majorly, but I think I put too much emphasis of my happiness on it and whether or not I'm doing enough at my age.
What helps you keep your sanity?
My husband, my dogs, and boba. Literally when in doubt, boba.
What is most important to you right now?
My health and finding my own community. I've had friends growing up and while we're still friends, I feel like I need people where I can develop deeper, fulfilling relationships with? I love my friends but it feels like most of us are staying friends out of nostalgia, which isn't bad but I feel like there could be something more?
Anything you recently found interesting?
Not really interesting but I'm currently obsessed with Moo Deng, the baby pygmy hippo in Thailand! And capybaras are the largest living rodent.

Bowing down or anthropomorphism?

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m 60, newly single and rebuilding my social network after its annihilation during and after the age of Covid. Dad to two newly adopted senior cats (a bonded pair of brother and sister), I spend my free time rescuing local plants that have broken off or are neglected, picking up litter in my neighborhood, shuttling cats to clinics for TNR and other procedures, and hiking in the area.
How's your life?
A ton less stressful than when in a relationship. I delight getting to know people patiently and deeply, but without the awkwardness and obligations of romance.
What helps you keep your sanity?
My gardening, feeling my mental and social condition improve. As I told a counselor recently when they asked what I had to live for: "finding out what comes next." Knowing I am living life according to my values without others commanding me on what to do and think.
What is most important to you right now?
Building a small group of supportive friends who respect and enjoy our shared values and interests. With our experience and compassionate guideance, we are all learning to be a better version of ourselves.
Anything you recently found interesting?
Surprised myself at how happy picking up litter in my neighborhood has made me. It soothes my desire for a natural order and helps make our neighborhood cleaner and safer. It can occasionally be frustrating, but the number of neighbors who thank me and even better have started to pick up around their properties is amazing.

@FriendlyCoffee--that really worked out well. I'm glad the furry little ones didn't have to experience moving from home to home until they landed at your place :)
FriendlyCoffee
It was traumatic enough for them to get used to a new place; it took about a month. They are good companionship, but I hope someday there will be others around who we share in fellowship.

Where are you at in your life stage?
In traditional terms, pretty set? I'm 37, married, doing well overall. Next boring logistical step is probably buying a house, haven't done that yet. My parents are proud of me and shit. No notes.
How's your life?
Okay. Not to trauma dump, but my soul has been put through the blender last two years. My mother in law was diagnosed with dementia, my brother was in the hospital, had 10 surgeries, almost died a couple of times. Learned what code blue means. I still dream of hospitals. Oh and my mom had cancer briefly. She's okay now.
Ironically, I'm fucking killing it on the career side. I was born in a whole other country, wanted to be a filmmaker, and now... I am. I have some accolades that feels weird to write down. Gonna have my first feature shot with actual movie stars attached.
But it's like I'm calloused inside after living solely on my survival mechanism for two years. I'm a little numb.
What helps you keep your sanity?
I enjoy books, currently reading the latest Sally Rooney novel. I like playing DND and watching weird modern clown shops at Elysian Theater. Playing Bioware games, although their latest is a bit sanitized. Traveling, whenever I can swing it. Music -- anything from Kendrick Lamar to Opeth. OOoh, and eating. I spend a lot of money on food, not gonna lie.
What is most important to you right now?
My marriage. My work? My health. I'd like to work out more, sleep better. Feel better.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I saw a one man show called Sorry for Your Loss by Michael Cruz Kayne that was so funny and moving. I also enjoyed Natalie Palamedes' WEER, just the sheer bravura and audacity.
I also read a sci-fi novel titled Memories of an Empire that was quite novel and fun, it stayed with me.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I am in my mid-20s and currently panicking because I feel like I don't have anything figured out in my life yet. I moved to the Bay around two years ago and have not been able to make a lot of friends. I want to connect with different people with different hobbies to broaden my horizon and potentially make new hobbies to entertain my life.
How's your life?
My life is slow and fast at the same time. Sometimes I think that time is going really slowly yet sometimes times is going faster than the speed of light.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Listening to music is my source of serenity. I love to sing and listen to music and always have wanted to get vocal training to get better at singing. I listen to all sorts of music and always looking to expand my music taste.
What is most important to you right now?
Right now I would say the most important thing for me is my family and preparing for my future career. I live with my parents still and while a part of me wants to move out I do think that spending time with family is really important.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I recently found the joy of going to climbing gyms. Have been going once a while and have enjoyed it a lot. I have also been watching more anime and would also love recommendations!

Do you go to Movement? My husband goes there and has made a whole friend group out of climbing buddies. I’m also a lover of music and anime, so maybe we’d have some things to talk about!

25 year old WFM in tech as a designer! I’m currently working towards adding frontend development to my skillset to hopefully move towards the engineer title, hopefully within a few years <3
How's your life?
I’d say it’s balanced! I don’t have a lot to complain about. I’m not originally from Orange County but I genuinely do love it here, so I’m hoping to can meet a community where we can all experience life here to the fullest :)
What helps you keep your sanity?
I’m really big on quality time and acts of service, so I’m a huge foodie (boba included C:), video games, art, fashion, and just hanging out with friends :)
What is most important to you right now?
Community! My case isn’t special, but after graduating I realized I missed the social aspect of life. I’m just hoping to meet new people and form some meaningful friendships ^^

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m a quarter of a century, just moved and started a new job in Orange County earlier this year. I mainly focus on work during the week then try to have an action packed weekend. I’ve been more shy, independent, and closed off in the past, but had experiences that made me realize how important human connection is. I’m currently in a LDR with my boyfriend. Overall I have a positive outlook on life, being more open minded and welcoming towards people.
How's your life?
My life is pretty sweet and peaceful other than having existential questions every so often. I fill my weekends with going to different beaches, parks, downtowns, bookstores, restaurants, fairs, shops, there’s so much to do, so little time~
What helps you keep your sanity?
Staying active and busy. I like discovering new places, trying new things. Currently saved 300+ places I want to go to eat, shop, discover… is that overkill? I love going on hikes, especially waterfall hikes, long walks at the beach, picnicking at parks, cooking elaborate meals, sketching and reading. I haven’t really done too much sports lately, but I do enjoy volleyball, pickleball, and ultimate frisbee.
What is most important to you right now?
3 F’s: Food, family, friends, or at least making friends
